The late Jamaican singer, Bob Marley, once attempted to encourage a discouraged people with these words, “Don’t worry about a thing. Because every little thing is gonna be alright.” Not many years after that another song challenged us to, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. Then, a big purple dinosaur assured us that he loved us and we loved him and happiness was among us. Yet, the popularity of these heralds have not changed the condition of the millions of worriers among us. It has been recently reported that the most prescribed drugs in America are of the anti-depressant class. If the success of the entertainment industry during the time of the Great Depression is our guide, it is very possible that billions upon billions which are being spent on games, movies, sports events, etc. is a product of our longing to be distracted from our realities. So, we’ve learned that we cannot trust Bob Marley, Bobby or Barney. But another Man…one who has spoken before these three commands, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” Can we trust Him? Yes! I encourage you to listen to the message on John 13:36-14:3 and believe.
