History:
“The Gospel Hour Baptist Church” began in 1956 with a group of Christians meeting in a home setting. On November 2, 1958 ground breaking for the “Baptist Chapel” took place at 300 N 30th Street in Quincy, IL. Members met in the basement of this building until the church was completed and dedicated on April 28, 1963. In the early 1970’s the church became known as “Bible Baptist Church”. Between the years of 1971 and 1974 additional ground was purchased and the Bible Baptist School was opened and remained in operation until 1991.
